Indian Springs Village Association
We’re here to connect Helpers (who deliver groceries and medicine) with those who cannot leave their homes during the COVID-19 outbreak.
This COVID-19 crisis has created a difficult situation for many, especially those who are elderly, immunocompromised, or have other conditions that may increase their risk when leaving their house. As a recent college grad majoring in Public Health at Johns Hopkins, I thought I could do something to help. I’m young and thankfully have the advantage of being healthy and at low risk, but this made me want to help those who weren’t. The issue was I did not know where to look for opportunities to help. Growing up in The Woodlands I know there is a strong sense of community here and that many more people feel the desire to help, but don’t know exactly how to find opportunities. Find A Helper’s purpose is to fill this gap by facilitating connections between those looking for a way to help and those who need a helping hand..I have seen similar services developed for places like NYC, and saw an opportunity to bring this type of service to The Woodlands. If you have some time and want to do some good for the community sign up to volunteer!
The Indian Springs Village Association meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM at the Woodlands Township Building, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. Meetings are open to all interested parties.
