ISVA Donates to Local Schools

The Indian Springs Village Association is pleased to once again support our local schools.  Funds raised at village events, such as the Taste of the Village, are put back into our community through scholarships to our Indian Springs high school seniors and donations to our neighborhood schools.  A $750 donation was made to Galatas Elementary School for the purchase of fiction and non-fiction books for their kindergarten through fourth grade classrooms.  Galatas Principal Denae Wilker writes, “ These valuable instructional materials will enhance student learning and encourage a love of reading that will last a life time.”  An additional $750 donation was made to Glen Loch Elementary.  Indian Springs Village Association board member Michael Saucier presented the check to the Glen Loch PTO in February.

After understanding the need for funding to support STEM learning in Robotics, the Indian Springs Village Association was proud to contribute $500 to both the Mitchell Intermediate and Wilkerson Intermediate Robotics programs.  Mitchell science teacher and robotics coach Lori LeBouef writes, “We would like to expand our competition teams, but more importantly, provide robots for each science classroom to allow all Mitchell students the opportunity to develop STEM skills.”  Wilkerson science teacher and robotics coach Wendy Park plans to purchase a Lego Mindstorms kit, saying that, “it will benefit the students in the area of science, technology, and engineering.  We are working to find ways to showcase and share the materials now and in the future!”  We appreciate all the wonderful teachers and staff who work so hard for our students.
