IVSA Awards Two Scholarships

Indian Springs Village Association Awards Two Scholarships

Each year the Indian Springs Village Association awards scholarships to High School students who are graduating and planning to go to college.  They have to meet rigorous scholastic & community service standards. We received many incredible applications and were reminded of the intelligence, persistence, and kindness our students possess. The scholarship committee, like most years, had a difficult time selecting our winners. Thanks so much to all students who submitted their applications.

This year we're excited and pleased to announce that these scholarships will go to twin, graduating seniors, Ashley & Allison Sharer, who attend The Woodlands High School and have each completed over 1,000 hours of community service in and around The Woodlands.

Ashley and Allison Sharer have competed at the highest levels of Cross Country and Track & Field, but most importantly, they have each received numerous awards honoring their commitments to service. With honors, elected leadership roles and an intense focus on service in the National Charity League, Girl Scouts, and Gulf Coast MENSA, Ashley and Allison have defined what it means to be dedicated to community service and citizenship.

We've had the privilege of watching them grow up and become remarkable young ladies. We look forward to presenting these scholarships at our May 11th, 7 pm, Indian Springs Board meeting.  CONGRATULATIONS, Allison and Ashley!

We are offering $1,000 voluntary service scholarships for this year’s graduating seniors.   The scholarships will be awarded primarily on community service and citizenship.  Other factors, including academics, will be considered only secondarily.  This scholarship honors those who have chosen to serve their community, though the type of service is not limited in any way.

To be eligible for the ISVA Voluntary Service Scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Currently reside in the Village of Indian Springs
  • Be a graduating senior (or home schooled) or recent high school graduate
  • Plan to enter an institution of higher learning (2 or 4 year or vocational) in the fall of 2021 for the first time
  • Truthfully complete and timely submit the attached application

Indian Springs has offered this scholarship in the past, and we would like to offer it again this year.  I have attached the application, which needs to completed by March 23, 2020.
